Fast Ones 02:14
Fast Ones Gimme my acoustic, By the fireside. A glass of whisky, To ease my mind. I put a record on, Simon and Garfunkel. When harmony never sounded more beautiful. Wanna write my own track then upload it fast for all the world to see. A charming ballad, I think I have it. A slow dance no one wants but me. (Chorus) Cause they love the Fast Ones  Find me at the keyboard, Just like Elton John. Never the black notes, My playings not that strong. To hit a blues riff or crocodile rock. I give em Daniel cause sad songs say so much. (Chorus) Cause they love the Fast Ones I can’t help but start playing a minor chord. I can’t stop my heart, from spilling overboard. I want one sad refrain. We all have one past mistake we keep repeating. Flowers need the rain and I need it eighty eight beats per minute. Wanna write my own track then upload it fast for all the world to see. A epic ballad, when I think I have a romance, they want comedy. (Chorus) Cause they love the Fast Ones
3.
Beach Singer Man He plays every song in the key of A from Fun Fun Fun to Drift Away. And there’s a tip jar if you’ve got some change before the summer sun sets on the stage. And he doesn’t mind if you’re not kind and just talk over him. Cause there will be a day not far away when his ship will come in. (Chorus) Beach singer man, Beach singer man. Catch em while you can Oh beach singer man. He’s got time to kill, and jokes to tell. He’s got album in the back to sell. While the servers spill drinks down front. He giggles to himself oh it’s just as well. And he doesn’t mind if you’re not kind and just walk out on him. Cause There will come a day not too late when his ship will come in. (Chorus) Beach singer man, Beach singer man. Catch em while you can Oh beach singer man

Waiting Room 03:04
Waiting Room There was a sports illustrated from 1998 there for me to read, a bit too late. Oh well, there’s nothing else for me to do. And the tv’s repeating the same stories. When the morning news turned into 3 pm and not much had happened in between. (Chorus) The girl said, “soon the doctor will be with you”. She said “soon, keep hanging in the waiting room” I watched a squirrel try to get in from the window. He fell from a tree and landed below. But why does he, want in when I just want to go?  And My cell phone was dying it wouldn't last long and I can’t take another Taylor Swift song. So I just might have to sing along. (Chorus) The girl said, “soon the doctor will be with you”. She said “soon, keep hanging in the waiting room”. The language barrier was coming through in stereo. Where am I exactly, is this still America? Well It’s a big big world and maybe I’m the alien! (Chorus) The girl said, “soon the doctor will be with you”. She said “soon, keep hanging in the waiting room”

Up and Comer A Glass of Pinot after work or two, cause your boss was a jerk. A bachelors in communication but he just can’t seem to let things go. You started with guns all ablaze A solid three step plan for change. They suck the life right out with corporate culture and say hang in there kid, you’ll get your shot. (Chorus) Up and comer. This place can be a bummer but one day you realize, It’s really not bad. Days run together. Like X’s on the calendar. Get back to your desk, It’s all you have! In school you were head of your class but here you sit in the back. Falling asleep during the presentation because the late show seems to fill the void. Reeling from meetings again but maybe this one is different. The boss calls you down to his office but only asks if you can pick up lunch. (Chorus) Up and comer. This place can be a bummer but one day you realize, It’s really not bad. Days run together. Like X’s on the calendar. Get back to your desk, It’s all you have! You Gotta give it more time. We all start somewhere. Put it all the line then maybe someone will care. Words of wisdom from barista. (Chorus) Up and comer. This place can be a bummer but one day you realize, It’s really not bad. Days run together. Like X’s on the calendar. Get back to your desk, It’s all you have!

Hawaii 02:38
Hawaii  I just want to visit. I just need a quick trip to Hawaii, to Hawaii. Folks spend their life saving for a hut outside the mainland in Hawaii, in Hawaii. (Chorus) Is it make believe, A story on the big screen? Just a fantasy, a distant paradise. Is Every worry and fear, washed out to sea forever?  Here comes the next wave baby. Everything’s all right. Seen a lot of pictures. I Wanna Capture my own big surf in Hawaii, in Hawaii. Hula girls on the plane that greet you from the runway in Hawaii, in Hawaii. (Chorus) Is it make believe, A story on the big screen? Just a fantasy, a distant paradise. Is Every worry and fear, washed out to sea forever?  Here comes the next wave baby. Everything’s all right

Antsy (Heavy Weather)  The car is freezing. My lips are chapped. Unsure if I’m still on the map. It’s 36• and I’ve had enough. The engines making an awful hum. This steering wheels a great snare drum. The music kicks till traffic lets up (Chorus) I get a little antsy in heavy weather. A little stir crazy, things may never change. And I’m holding you responsible for feeling this way. I’m holding you responsible today. The powers out in the neighborhood. My phone is almost gone for good. So what else can we do to pass the time. My bro and I play old board games but battleships just not the same. Since winning big was a domestic crime?  (Chorus) I get a little antsy in heavy weather. A little stir crazy, things may never change. And I’m holding you responsible for feeling this way. I’m holding you responsible today. I’m not asking for clear sunny skies. But a long bike ride would be alright. There’s a storm brewin’ out west so let’s get inside and hunker down tonight. (Chorus) I get a little antsy in heavy weather. A little stir crazy, things may never change. And I’m holding you responsible for feeling this way. I’m holding you responsible today

She Doesn’t Live There Anymore She doesn’t live there anymore. Tired of people crashing on her bedroom floor. She’d tell them to be gone by morning. They stay the whole day telling stories on the porch. She doesn’t live there any more. Boarded up the windows and locked the doors. Now Who’s gonna edge along the sidewalks? Who’s gonna lead the neighborhood watch...but her. How will they carry on now that she’s gone. Well the truth is, it didn’t take long to find someone. (Chorus) She doesn’t live there any more. She doesn’t live there any more. Sick of watching her friends kids while they’re at the store. At Christmases and New Years parties she’s at the kids table crying wanting more. Now there’s no one to speak at the PTA. But someone said they like it that way. (Chorus) She doesn’t live there any more. Now The outdoor patio shop is her sanctuary non stop. Re arranging furniture or has it been arranging her,  Oh she hasn’t heard from them in so long. Since somebody new moved into the old block. What’s done is done. (Chorus) She doesn’t live there any more.

Working Title I grab my bag and head down to the station. It’s such a drag to be living this away. Always coming and going I work in sales but dream of writing a screen play. Cause I’ve got some tales and stories to tell. Film could be my ticket outta here. Paper and Pen, there I go again. Falling asleep, but this desk is no bed. (Chorus) I’m a Working Title. Going back to the drawing board. Let’s finish this masterpiece...I’m tired of waking up on the cutting room floor. I reach the end but turn back to the middle. Who was that friend that just appeared at the bar? Oh This scenes not working. My baby calls and says She can’t sleep again. Might’ve lost it all. From the moment I said. I’ve Got a story about love. (Chorus) I’m a Working Title. Going back to the drawing board. Let’s finish this masterpiece...I’m tired of waking up on the cutting room floor. I'm losing so much. I’ve almost lost my mind. Scribbling plot lines. Instead of signing on the dotted line. Bill in accounting says that I should be counting my blessings instead of proofing up another true crime. Paper and Pen, there I go again. Falling asleep, but this desk is no bed. (Chorus) I’m a Working Title. Going back to the drawing board. Let’s finish this masterpiece...I’m tired of waking up on the cutting room floor.

Forever Is OK With Me She makes me weak, weak at the knees I'm restless when she's not with me She makes me believe, Her kisses so sweet Soaked in Cinnamon like UFB (Chorus) Cause she holds me till morning Then she leaves without warning Why she goes is such a mystery And she spends all of her time Running round my mind She says we’ve got eternity So I guess Forever Is OK With Me She makes me feel, feel like I'm on on thin ice this fight is slipping through our hands But Her love is real As real as the sunshine That rises and helps me land (Chorus) Life is dragging us down but she turns it around Waiting for a chance that might never be found

Gotta Run 03:08
Gotta Run I turn on my tv to see what’s going on. Heard a lot about this world and where it went wrong. The people say get up let’s answer the call but they’ve saying that since 1991. (Chorus) Don’t tell me what you’re doing. Just show me when it’s done. I ain’t got time, to talk all night. I gotta run. Scrolling through my phone, looking for a sign. Check my messages but they came at the wrong time. I tell you I’m not home, and try me after 9. Instead I turn it off and watch the sunrise. (Chorus) Don’t tell me what you’re doing. Just show me when it’s done. I ain’t got time, to talk all night. I gotta run. Be good to yourself. Be good to each other. Thats the only way! (Chorus) Don’t tell me what you’re doing. Just show me when it’s done. I ain’t got time, to talk all night. I gotta run.

Photograff 03:57
Photograff They were the greatest band that never lived. With a tale that may or may not matter. Spring of 83 when they started. Covering their favorite group Def Leopard. They would call themselves photograph. Though they barely even learned to play it and all the other bands would turn and laugh (Cause they could play) (Chorus) All along the watchtower and Stairway, note for note, backwards. And once they caught on, the trends moved along. The people wanted a new song. They were the greatest band that never lived. Making flyers hoping friends come see them. British flag t-shirt and leather pants. The same Joe Elliott wore on tour then Thinking this one might be their big break. Til someone shouted “smoke em if you’ve got em”. And everybody went out back to hang (Till someone played). (Chorus) All along the watchtower and Stairway, note for note, backwards. And once they caught on, the trends moved along. The people wanted a new song. Watching all their videos. Ironing their Rock Star clothes. But Leaving out the minor chords and the complicated solo notes.  (Chorus) All along the watchtower and Stairway, note for note, backwards. And once they caught on, the trends moved along. The people wanted a new song. The magic didn’t last long. The people wanted a new song.

Move With Me 03:08
Move With Me Sometimes you gotta get away from your surroundings and take a deep breath, where it’s not so demanding. And clear your weary head. Leave behind the mess that calls you from the kitchen. Pile up all that stress, with the dirty dishes and put on your best shoes and dress. I know how they pull you in like a rope. I know life is too short to not let go. (Chorus) You could, move with me, Move with me - To the country baby / Out to the sea. Move with me We’ll dock a boat out west and hide out from the neighbors. We’ll get things off our chest and try some island flavors. Would you pass the margarita mix? Baby lets do some things for ourselves and Be free of this baggage, Leave it on the shelf. (Chorus) You could, move with me, Move with me - To the country baby / Out to the sea. Move with me. Honey, you amaze me, how you pretend to be strong. But everyone needs a hideaway of their own (Chorus) You could, move with me, Move with me - To the country baby / Out to the sea. Move with me
14.
Harry Lukasik Harry Lukasik gets to work by 5. Before the others so the coffee is on time. People say Harry’s the giving type. He’s got an extra charger when your phone dies. (Chorus) He buys em by the dozen. Worked for the parks department most of his life. Fixing problems all the others cannot find. Not his first career choice but he always smiles and offers you a candy at quitting time. (Chorus) He buys em by the dozen. They don’t make em like him anymore. Need a handy man he’s at your door. (Chorus) He buys em by the dozen
15.
When I’m Blue Every morning when I wake up. I can breathe because I’ve got my side. And in the evening when I’m laid up and breaking up. I fall asleep with a twinkle in my eye. We’ve all had our share of bad news. Just look around and you can feel the weight of it and when I think I’ve paid all my dues and coming through. Step off my cloud and I can feel my headache split. But when I think of you I know. You’ve got the remedy I believe to finally heal me, i won’t let it go (Chorus) Because you, oh you- girl and all the things that you do. When I’m blue, I know you girl. Will always bring me right through. You know, I’m loving every minute. I might have found someone to get me through the night. Sometimes I can’t believe I’m in it, I did it. Cause I’m the fool who never seems to get things right. And when I look at you.. I know. I won the lottery, finally, not just a fantasy and I won’t let it go. (Chorus) Because you, oh you- girl and all the things that you do. When I’m blue, I know you girl. Will always bring me right through. Has luck come my way, baby? Has Love shone its face maybe. Has fate misplaced me for some other guy. Well look me in the eye. Oh when i think of us, I give up. Trying to Fight this tonight, when this feeling is right. Maybe this time I’m in love.  (Chorus) Because you, oh you- girl and all the things that you do. When I’m blue, I know you girl. Will always bring me right through.

Clean Break 03:23
Clean Break I’ve got the corner office now with a view of the park. I’ve got important people waiting in the lobby with Mark. And maybe one day they will see me. When I feel like leaving the golf course. I’ve got a Porsche 911, It’s the car of my dreams. But the brakes are always squeaking and the payments obscene. Sometimes I miss the days of high school when the girls thought my Buick was king. I know that I have climbed the corporate ladder .I wonder if any of it matters. (Chorus) I need a clean break. I need a clean break yeah. Let’s Make a clean break and find a new place. To lay out in the sun until the day is done. A wasted adolescence always somewhere to be. “C’mon take me to a party”, Oh she said to me. But once I got to college, got my act together and a degree. The top of my class, I turned my tassel. Wondering if it was the worth the hassle. (Chorus) I need a clean break. I need a clean break yeah. Let’s Make a clean break and find a new place. To lay out in the sun until the day is done. Drift away, start over somewhere new. Girl I just wanna pull the Buick out and pick up you!. (Chorus) I need a clean break. I need a clean break yeah. Let’s Make a clean break and find a new place. To lay out in the sun until the day is done.

Little Road 03:10
Little Road  Let me tell you about this place I’m gonna live or die. Some folks call it heaven and others call its hell. I moved in with dreams of grandeur now I can’t tell. It’s not the way I see it cause it’s so beautiful. It’s not the people you meet. It’s traffic taking over. The trees are getting older. feels a lot like me. (Chorus) Feelin’ small on Little rd. Wanna run, but where would I go. Wanna know all I don’t know. Least I know, she’s here with me. Think I just hit a speed bump. Gazing up into the stars. You can see for miles if you look through the line of cars. Constructions moving forward. Boundaries are getting shorter. Soon they will clear out all the land. Dogs they fight each other. While neighbors rest and wonder. If they will be next . (Chorus) Feelin’ small on Little rd. Wanna run, but where would I go. Wanna know all I don’t know. Least I know, she’s here with me. I know you don’t see those coyotes out there. Waiting for a slip up And they’ll be right there. I hope when I go out to get some fresh air. Maybe we will meet up at the end of my gun

Slacker 03:59
Slacker One day I Saw him at the grocery store. With a perfect tan and zubaz cut off shorts. Haven’t seen him out since 94’ Unless he’s parked out front of Loco’s taco stand. He’s usually online trolling the comments with his avatar and brash opinion. For a laugh he likes to really dig in. (Chorus) You know where he goes, You know where he goes, He goes where he wants to..Oh Slacker! Who knows what he does, Who knows what he does. He does what he has to..Oh Slacker! Went home and flipped the pages of my old my yearbook and there he was, next to the words, school crook. Cause people thought he got off the hook. From when he vandalized the wrestling trophy case they say he probably did it with a smile on his face. And If he did he likely had his reasons. For ruining their perfect season. (Chorus) You know where he goes, You know where he goes, He goes where he wants to..Oh Slacker! Who knows what he does, Who knows what he does. He does what he has to..Oh Slacker! Confident..Never follows the trend. Pollution…could put it to an end. Tells no one…I heard he started a band. Called The Solution...but only takes a stand in the kitchen. (Chorus) You know where he goes, You know where he goes, He goes where he wants to..Oh Slacker! Who knows what he does, Who knows what he does. He does what he has to..Oh Slacker!

Learning To Drive  He drove me out past the interstate and said now find your way home. You wanna stake your claim to the Chevrolet? Well do it on your own. He slid the keys across the dash and tried to calm my nerves. Just grab the wheel, step on the gas and put it in reverse. (Chorus) Learning to Drive, Not every hero gets a chance to fly. Learning to Drive, Cause the worst thing Is waiting for a ride. Nothing’s easy and Nothings free. No matter what they say. If you're gonna make it, It's not because of me. You’ve gotta find your own way. You’ll fall asleep at the wheel. You’ll forget to fill up. But while you’re broken down you might just feel you’re finally growing up. (Chorus) Learning to Drive, Not every hero gets a chance to fly. Learning to Drive, Cause the worst thing Is waiting for a ride The billboards lead you nowhere. The rest stops closed. Tune in your favorite station. It’s good for the soul. Get lost on purpose. You may find that you're home. You’re home! (Chorus) Learning to Drive, Not every hero gets a chance to fly. Learning to Drive, Cause the worst thing Is waiting for a ride

Duty Free 03:32
Duty Free I Bought a flight to Memphis but boarded towards LA. Told you don’t come out west then said I wish that you came. I brought a brand new suitcase to pack my memories. But lost it in in the crawl space outside of terminal D. (Chorus) You say Im going insane. The way I play these games over and over again. I know I’ve Gotta get myself together, before I land. Been playing in a rock band. Trying to catch a break. If I could stay out of the quicksand. Might be all that it takes. Played a couple records. Made a couple friends. But I lost em in the desert. Oh there I go again. (Chorus) You say Im going insane. The way I play these games over and over again. I know I’ve Gotta get myself together, before I land. I visited the gift shop baby. They said it was duty free. Bought myself a briefcase, power suit and tie,  with imported french whisky...aren’t you proud of me? (Chorus) You say Im going insane. The way I play these games over and over again. I know I’ve Gotta get myself together, before I land.

ReRun 02:29
ReRun He was a product of the 80s, a casualty of a divorce. You see, he was raised on tv, when daddy walked out that door. It’s all different strokes. It’s all family ties. He learned his lessons from Magnum PI. (Chorus) But These re runs keep haunting. And These re runs won’t put his mind at ease. The futures bleak. His Mom is working late again, put a dinner in the fridge. So long, to father knows best, that channels not coming in. It’s all who’s the boss. It’s all the facts of life. He found his way, one day at a time. (Chorus) But These re runs keep haunting. And These re runs won’t put his mind at ease. The futures bleak.

Mississippi 02:18
Mississippi  Along the mighty Mississippi. I wondered if someone would miss me. If I fell in and was washed away. It can be hard being a chemist with the world depending on us and I find no cure by the end of the day (Chorus) I don’t know what you’re going though x3. Majored in science all through college but I minored in robotics. Cause steel and wires are easier to read. Then got a summer job at Walgreens. Mixing pills behind a big screen. My future was mapped out for me. (Chorus) I don’t know what you’re going though x3. I sit around all day. Reading the latest trades. Wishing I could get away. Leave this white coat, leave this sterol place. Maybe hop a board a train. Oh I tried my hand at true love. But relationships don’t add up. The data we have is incomplete. (Chorus) I don’t know what you’re going though x3

about

The Easy Button entered 2020 unsure of what the future held. The band thought about slowing down and dialing things back a bit. Then COVID-19 happened. Lockdown. Quarantine. This dramatic pause gave everyone an opportunity for introspection and reflection whether they were looking for it or not and your favorite power pop band is no exception.

As the world struggles to find the reset button, The Easy Button reemerges with Lost On Purpose, their most ambitious album to date. The culmination of a writing process that began during the summer of 2020, Lost On Purpose finds The Easy Button applying their signature hooks and melodies to a super-sized batch of 22(!) songs delving into a wide range of topics sure to appeal to listeners of every stripe. The long period of isolation inspired the guys to seek collaborators in ways they never have before yielding some fun surprises to be mined from this latest collection of tunes! Trapped inside, the band also worked harder than ever on the recording process with these tracks, resulting in their best sounding record to date.

Without rehashing the last year plus, the world is different now. A lot of change has occurred leaving a lot of uncertainty. The Easy Button hopes to provide some small measure of relief, inviting you to get Lost On Purpose with them: you might find that you’re home.
